Social Development Minister Sisisi Tolashe has pledged her help and determination to increasing South African Social Security Company (SASSA) solutions through an engagement with all the company's senior managers in a strategic planning session in Cape Town.
Tolashe on Tuesday expressed her heartfelt congratulations to the many social grant beneficiaries, who excelled in the 2024 matric exams.
From the 724 156 full-time learners who registered for the National Senior Certification (NSC), 572 338 are social grant beneficiaries, representing 81% of the registered pupils during the education sector.
These learners obtained a commendable pass rate of 86%.
"This means that the investment decision government is making during the life of inadequate and susceptible small children is yielding a beneficial influence in breaking intergenerational poverty," Tolashe said.
